The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA will be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it's alarmed regarding the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office devoted to service the area each day. The company stage made for intervention experiences a large inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to permit the servicing of all shoppers and increase entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency sassa status check said.
